Adoption of Russian Digital Financial Assets Bill Delayed

The Russian Parliament may hold off on adopting the Digital Financial Assets bill until it returns to session in the fall. The bill would determine if a ban was to be placed on cryptocurrencies, including having no exchanges that include crypto.

It is the opinion of some who are against cryptocurrencies that it could be used to help those who are anti-government to spread their message and fund protests and revolts against the government.

The government postponed the adoption of this bill in May to consider expanding the terminology to include bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
