David Chaum, e-cash inventor, has stated that blockchains and crypto will benefit from privacy-focused messaging systems which become integrated with payments. As consumers recognize the limitations of encryption, they will gravitate towards blockchain and other technologies which are better equipped to protect data.
Chaum has stated that the next phase in cryptocurrency is a platform which provides protection for metadata along with support for transfer and messaging all in one package. His view correlates to trend that social networks and major messaging services have either already gotten involved in crypto payments or are about to enter. This includes Facebook, Telegram in Russia and Line in Japan. Predictions have been made that one of the social networks with crypto assets will become a major success.
It is expected that Facebook is in a particularly good place to bring major change with possible mass adoption by users. It could change the game for crypto and blockchain.
